before you refill

Give your empty jar a quick check first.

Your jar should be completely empty, clean, dry and free of damage before adding a refill.

Do not reuse a jar that is cracked, chipped, heavily scratched or otherwise damaged. If the vessel has seen better days, let her retire. 💜

how to refill your candle

  • 01. clean out your jar

    Remove any leftover wax and the old wick tab from your finished candle. Clean out any remaining residue, then allow the jar to dry completely.

  • 02. unwrap your refill

    Remove all packaging from your Refill & Chill insert. Your refill arrives as a solid, pre-wicked candle, so there’s no pouring wax or installing a new wick.

  • 03. place it in the jar

    Gently lower the refill into its compatible State Your Mood jar. It should sit securely inside without needing to be forced.

    If the refill doesn't fit properly, don't force it into the vessel.

  • 04. check + trim the wick ✂️

    Make sure everything is sitting properly in the jar and trim the wooden wick according to your normal candle-care instructions before lighting.

burn it like a new candle

Your refill is a fresh candle, so treat that first burn accordingly.

Allow the wax to create an even melt pool across the surface without exceeding the recommended burn time. Before each burn, keep the wick properly trimmed and the wax free of debris.

Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children or pets.

ready for another round?

Once you've finished your refill, inspect the jar again before reusing it. If it's still in good condition, clean it out and get ready for another Refill & Chill.

If the jar is damaged or showing significant wear, it's time for a new vessel.
