Candle Care and Safety Tips

Listen, babes. Don't kill your candle before it's had a chance to live its best life! Whether you're burning them solo, with a partner, or in a group setting, if you don't treat your candles with respect they won't last. Here are some tips on how to keep the flame burning strong:

TRIMMING YOUR WICK

First things first, you've got to trim your wick! Make sure it's trimmed down to 1/4 inch before burning your candle. This will make sure that the wax burns evenly and prevent black soot from getting in your candle. You would need to do this before EVERY time you light your candle.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR CANDLE GOING

You should be burning every candle for 3-4 hours for the 8oz MOOD and 22oz BIG MOOD, and an hour for the 4oz MOOD mini candles, or until the entire surface of the wax has fully melted. And then? Stop! There's no need to keep going. You should stop burning when there's about 1/2 inch of wax left in the container. NEVER put water on a lit candle! It'll put out the flame, but also crack your glass container and could potentially even cause a fire hazard.

DON'T LAUGH, BECAUSE CANDLE SAFETY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

Keep your candle away from drafts, like an open window or a fan that could blow it over. Always keep your wick trimmed. Remember, kids and pets aren't always able to resist temptation—keep 'em away from the flame! And always be careful when moving lit candles around.

FINSIHING TOUCHES - STILL IMPORTANT INFO

Candles should be kept in a cool place (room temperature or lower)—you don't want them getting soft or melting! Also, don't blow out your candles! You're probably going to lose some of your fragrance that way. Instead, use a candle lid (PUHLEASE do not keep lid on) or use a snuffer to extinguish your flame. And finally… reuse your vessels! They're made of 100% glass and are perfect for holding makeup brushes, toothbrush and toothpaste, or anything else you can dream up. Show us how you repurposed your candle jars on Instagram.

We love you, we really do. But you gotta take care of your candles if you want them to last!
